How does a Multi Functional Rural Fuel Platform (MFRFP) work

The MFRFP's vegetable oil seed extruder crushes vegetable oil seeds like Soy, Canola, Sunflower, Jatropha etc. The resulting vegetable oil is converted into renewable diesel which is then sold as fuel, generating a cash revenue stream in the community. The vegetable oil produced by the extruder is also used as fuel for the diesel engine. This diesel power is used to drive the oil seed extruder, the electric generator, the water purifier, the water pump, the tool grinder wheel, flour mill, plus provide a small amount heat for home and/or water heating. A rural community can provide power for a small scale village electrification system utilizing the MFRFP's electricity generator. This generator can also be used to charge batteries and lanterns, to provide a "sandal grid" based lighting system. The MFRFP's water pump can lift water from a rural community's wells or water course, eliminating the back breaking effort required to carry water by hand. The MFRFP will also clean the pumped water with the integrated water purifier system, reducing village disease levels caused by contaminated water supplies. A flour grinding mill fitted to the MFRFP eliminates the hours of labor processing food. The protein meal cake left over from the seed extrusion process can be used to extend the local population’s diet. This protein rich food supplement increases the protein levels in food ensuring proper nutrition, plus this meal cake can be used as supplemental animal feed during the unseasonable months.

The MFRFP provides the missing piece of the development puzzle

Rural FuelThe MFRFP's rural fuel production capability enables poor, rural communities to generate cash from the sales of fuel produced in the community. The ability to earn money is the missing piece in the rural development puzzle that has plagued the aid community and developing world alike in their poverty alleviation efforts for the last 30 years. The MFRFP provides an opportunity for poor, rural communities to join the global trading system and sell a valuable commodity to the world. In this way, the MFRFP's revenue stream provides the ability to turn the conventional thinking on providing aid to poor, rural communities on its head. The MFRFP for the first time provides entrepreneurial and job opportunities for the local populations living in poor, rural communities that are far more lucrative than can be found in cities or in other countries.

The MFRFP can provide a way out of the rural poverty trap

We believe that the Multi Functional Rural Fuel Platform (MFRFP) is one of the keys that can help the world's rural poor free themselves from a poverty cycle that sees more than 2 billion of the world's population earning less than one dollar per day.
